Week of 2/14

Hi-
Right now I've been reworking my storyboards for my Flash self portrait.
Initially, I wanted to make one long animation but now I'm playing with the idea of making it an interactive piece that will break off into 3 different animation pieces. I want to start off my piece with sort of a map of the brain that highlights each section, and if you click on certain parts brings you to a specific part of the animation. As far as the design, I'd like to keep it more modern and simple, working probably completely in AI before bringing elements into Flash. My "brain" concept may sound a little strange right now, but I'm trying to keep my portrait more abstract and creative.
I'm still reworking my storyboards and also starting to build in Illustrator, and will show some more work later this week.
Thanks,
Kristen

  1. Love the idea of the brain as a navigational element. Also the three separate section is a great way to break out your narrative paths. Looking forward to seeing the sketches. Think about the style of the piece and what kind of brain illustrations you might wanna use. Off the top of my head I can think of the new super modern 3d brain illustrations might set a different tone than a old school turn of the century medical book would. In a quick search on getty images there were even a few collaged brains that looked fun. All I am saying is make sure every choice you make for this supports your design. Good stuff.
